OMG! I'm On Reality T.V.

I am actually an advocate of most reality T.V. shows. My favorite reality show is Biggest Loser. I refuse to watch the whole season but I love the last episode when you can see the transformations that the contestants have taken. However, some reality T.V. shows on MTV are rather disturbing to me. I know that if I was still a teenager I would probably be obsessed. Except as an adult I think that they are ludicrous. Jersey Shore is entertaining but does not promote proper lifestyle and behaviors for our growing youth. Teens should not think that life is all about partying 24/7.
ReplyDeleteIn terms of the Hunger Games, I can not even imagine turning on the T.V. to watch 24 youngsters slaughter one another. I would immediately change the channel or cover my eyes if the government forced me to watch. I feel terrible for Katniss that her every waking move for over two weeks was broadcast to the whole country, all while she was trying to fight for her life. I couldn't imagine seeing the terror in her face as she fought off the dreadful muttations.
Well I don't watch that but I do watch jersey shore and BET movie and VH1 and I am my own person so as long as I know what's write and what's wrong then I am good cause to me it's like a lot of older people dont like for them or they kids to watch it so I dont know why y'all don't like cause most of us know what's write and wrong
DeleteI agree but all jersey shore shows is not that bad because sometimes they tell u wat not to do in life and wat to do
DeleteI watch jeresy shore and I do agree that It is not a very good show. I would not watch the hunger games if it was on tv. I wouldn't want to see friends and family die on tv.
DeleteI agree because jersey shore is not all that good and partying 24/7 is just impossible what you need to do is keep your grades up get a job and then worry about partying 24/7
DeleteI can understand why you are an advocate of reality TV, Lauren. After reading your post it made me think about some of the positive aspects in some reality TV shows. Originally, my thinking was that almost all of reality TV was a farce. Throughout all of my life, the experiences portrayed as "reality" are just foreign to me and none of my "REAL" experiences are like anything on TV at all. But after reading your post it reminded me of one show that I like to watch. In the show Undercover Boss, I like to watch the last 15 minutes, where the "Boss" of a different company each week rewards his or her employees that they spent time with. They appear as a working novice in the company and perform many tasks and make many mistakes. Their employees show them how to improve in their tasks and how to make the company better. Throughout this process, the "Boss" also learns about the individuals and the problems they face each and every day. In the end, which I truly enjoy, the "Boss" returns to the employees in the position of authority and gives them gifts, promotions, and tools they need to perform their jobs more efficiently. Also, if the employee has not performed well, they offer them retraining and some constructive criticism to improve their work. I do see this as a positive element of reality TV.
ReplyDeleteI could never imagine myself watching The Hunger Games! As a parent, it terrifies me to even think of children being put in this position and I hope I would have it in myself to somehow put an end to this thought process and hopefully remove the people who are in power that would do such a thing!
Mr. Steele even though I am not a parent I am pretty sure I would as you said try to stop all the injustices that are in place.I would also turn off the TV if I had to watch kids fight to the death.I honestly believe that any government that makes kids fight so they can get the message of "we are control don't fight back" across to the viewers I would fight back if it means punishment by wip or the hanging tree.
DeleteMr. Steele, as a parent, I agree. Kidding. But it is appalling to me that they send 24 relatively young people to kill each other. To watch on TV is even worse. Basically that sends a message that you like watching people die. But I bet that no one (with a tv) hasn't seen someone fight or die on TV. It happens. So think about it: is the Hunger Games much different then what we watch regularly too? Also, for that time period and lifestyle, the Hunger Games have become a way of life. If you lived in Panem, you WOULD watch it. In the book, the prep team acted as if The Hunger Games was nothing because to the whole nation, it really is just a way of life.
DeleteSo really, the reality TV we watch today is the same thing as The Hunger Games! Maybe slightly more intense but not much. To me, I watch reality TV and enjoy some of it. But they call it reality because it's based on reality so most of it is true, it's just fit to entertain the audience. My favorite reality TV show is "The Mentalist" on TNT. This show is about the CBI/California Buraeu of Investigation doing their job. What happens there's also happens in real life and I still watch it. The ones I prefer to avoid are the ones that base the show of a specific persons life which isn't reality anymore.
I have and will always disagree with the thought of watching people die on reality tv. But Chris your comment has some truth to it. If I lived in Panem I would watch the Hunger Games, it's a way of life there. I have never thought of that way but it's like a train reck no one can take there eyes off of the war on the screen. At the end of the day everyone watches reality tv and sees a few people die and even if we watch it we still say its an awful, blood bath but WE STILL WATCH IT! This realates to Panem, everyone watches the show because no one can take their eyes of the train reck s off the screen no matter how gruesome it may seem.
DeleteNobody watches that show Conrad. Jw what with the parenthasese around the "boss?" but I agree that the reality tv shows aren't real. For example, 16 and pregnant none of them girls parents would seriously let them be on tv after they got knocked up.
DeleteWhy would the Capitol think that its ok mad fun to watch kids kill each other, that's just weird, what if the people in the capital had to go into the hunger games too? Also people act crazy when they see a camera just so that they can get on TV, what if their boss sees them and they get fired? Also when a show gets popular all the TV Chantal's make shows that are exactly the same as the first show, like they have three different versions of storage wars and now there is no point in watching it anymore.
ReplyDeleteThe capital would make children compete in the hunger games because they do not realize that 23/24 children die from this and they never had kids so they do not know how it's like losing there kids for entertainment
DeleteBryce I totally agree with you but I honestly think that because they live in the Capitol that they don't have to put their kids in the hunger games.I also think that if the Capitol kids did have to go to the hunger games the game makers would pull strings to make it seem that even the children of the Capitol can outwit the other districts.
DeleteGood point on how TV shows are always copied and almost nothing is original, and , whatever is original is just completely weird. I think it be interesting to see Capitol citizens compete in the Hunger Games, give them a taste of their own medicine, and watch them all die in five minutes. I would also like to see them live the district lifestyle for a year or two.
DeleteI agree Gavin they are enjoying them selves watch others die and the should have a taste of there own medicine and if it where them they would not last very long because they are spoiled people and basically the people are killing others for the capitals intertainment
DeleteI think reality shows are actors looking for something to do like the reality show honey boo boo and jersey shore there trying to Poison us as teenagers so when we are adults we are crazy weirdos my faverite reality show by far is survivor when I turn on the television and watch the hunger games I cannot imagine those children killing one another for ones entertainment if I were ever in it I would not show up even if it costs me my life.
ReplyDeleteThe reality show that I like to watch is cake boss because it shows how their bakery works. Also it gives baker's ideas on what kind of cake they can make for their bakery. Also Buddy "the cake boss" likes to play pranks on his workers to just have a little fun while working hard. Also I would never imagine turning on the tv to watch cake boss and look t the screen and see 24 Tweens or teens having to fight for their life. That would just terrify me,especially when I am a scary cat!
ReplyDeleteI feel the same Raechel I would be scared to watch the hunger games I would like to watch cake boss then teenagers battling each other to the death
DeleteMy favorite TV show Is cake boss. It's about this guy named buddy and he makes cakes for any company or person that comes in. What happens is that he makes the cake how the people want then takes it to wherever the person or company wants it, even if it's far away from there company. The cake boss really shows how stressful his job is when he is working with his family, his sisters make it hard for him to even finish a cake let alone get to the person or company on time.
ReplyDeleteI would want to watch the hunger games movie but I don't think I can handle all of the deaths, not even Rue's deaths even with I started to cry because of the singing, and putting the flowers around her body.
I don't really watch many reality TV shows mainly because most of them are ridiculous to watch. Most reality TV shows are about people living their lives, when some people want to watch that instead of going off and living their own lives. It probably has a bad influence to younger people who do watch reality TV because of the inappropriate behavior, partying, and arguing. I was at lunch the other day, and someone mentioned the premier of "Pretty Little Liars", and practically all the girls screamed and got so excited over it. My favorite types of TV shows is something that is funny or interesting to watch, as long as the acting isn't terrible.
ReplyDeleteIf the Hunger Games were in real life, I would probably think it was a very interesting movie at first and I would be attracted to watching it to see what happens next. But I would soon realize that these kids are actually fighting for their lives, and I would feel terrible for each and everyone one of them, because I know that could be me or someone else I know. I couldn't imagine what life would be like in the arena all by yourself, dehydrated, hungry, cold, hurt, and scared out of your wits that you won't wake up the next morning. I couldn't watch it because watching it is the same as supporting it and encouraging it. It's too gruesome for my taste and very messed up.
I agree most reality tv are ridiculous a lot of them are fake. I like to only watch funny shows.
DeleteI love most reality tv shows my favorite one is extreme home make over when ever the show is on I have to watch it. Loving just sitting there watching it . I believe that it's Better than all the other crazy shows they have on tv sometimes things they have on tv is just not for kids my age because it's just to much for use to watch at such a young age ,we really should be reading books and playing outside and not partying and doing all.types of crazy stuff. Some tv shows do . I probly wouldn't just turn to a channel and watch hunger games because I feel like that's crazy why am I going to sitting here watch teens kill each other and have night Mares after watching it so no I wouldn't just turn to a channel and watch hunger games.
ReplyDeletePatricia , you made a good point about liking most reality shows, but it depends on what reality show you enjoy , like for example; drama, reality, acting, love and more, but I see what you mean though you made a good statement that you like MOST reality shows because most is a BIG word as of that statement but overall, I like reality shows because there are so many different types of them like the examples below. But there are certain things that I wouldn't watch like things rated R and killing and stuff like that.
DeleteI don't watch much TV at all because I honestly think everything that's on TV is weird or makes no sense and when I watch TV I ask myself "why am I even watching this," or "couldn't they put something better on TV." I think shows, such as Jersey Shore, should be abandoned since it takes no thought what so ever to make a show like that. The big reason I don't watch TV is because I'd rather spend time gaming or editing films on my laptop. I think reality TV has a lot to do with some of society's problems. For example, shows like The Talk or The Tonight Show take a recent problem and turn it into a complete joke.
ReplyDeleteI couldn't imagine watching the Hunger Games. It would be torture to have to watch people get slaughtered and the killer not think twice about what they just did to another human being. I hope that someone would be brave enough to fight the government, not for better working conditions, but for the Games to be stopped all together. Who would put that on TV?
Gavin, I agree with you because most of the things people put on television is turned into a complete joke and leads our society to doing stupid things and believing that it is okay to act like fools. I also agree that televising-let alone having- the Hunger Games is a bad thing that does not need to happen to kids in Panem.
DeleteI like some reality tv shows but some are just weird and bad influences. As I say Jersey Shore shows you what not to do. I like the show True Life. Where People have this obsession they have and someone helps to come to get over their obsession some how in some way and it helps them. For example I watched this girl who wanted to be prom queen but she didn't think she was good enough to because she thought nobody liked her. At the end of the show she did win prom queen after someone helped her make friends, and tell her the expectaions. This show is on MTV but I think it's better than Jersey Shore. Some of reality tv is just bad because they are showing their lives and what it is for them but most of the time its nothing like that. For example Jersey Shore.
ReplyDeleteIf I turned on my tv and saw the Hunger Games I would definitely change it because I wouldn't want to live in that life style, who would? Also I can't think of being put through that, and all the dangers.
My favorite T.V show is killer karaoke that show is when the host make people do every thing that he. Want but the person has to sing a song can not stop singing most shows like on MTV are not good to watch
ReplyDeleteI like that show it is funny but how would you feel about watching the hunger games.
DeleteOmari I like that show also it's funny when they get zap and start dropping everything there's some shows that I can do without like doctors and
DeleteLike golf channels an d soccer but like some effects on the society is that people will do anything fun for money on game shows
In general, I would not call myself a fan of Reality T.V. Mainly because of how much of it is actually scripted, defeating the "Reality" purpose. When I say this, I am referring to shows such as "Jersey Shore" and "Teen Mom" which is influencing our society today into thinking that it is okay to act like fools, think that you're 5 or 10 years older than you actually are, and make decisions that would ruin your life. But then you see reality shows such as "American Idol" or, "Undercover Boss" as Conrad had said, that are real people making their own decisions for a good purpose.
ReplyDeleteThomas m I agree with you because jersey shore just shows fake Italians that act like fools. But American idol is something that any body can watch
DeleteI agree all the way because shows like "Jersey Shore" and shows like that are mostly script and are all about partying and drinking and is just stupid. Most reality tv shows again like "Jersey Shore" are not fun to watch and do not send good messages to future generations. And then you have shows like "American Idol" that are real and show real things and are not script and people doing stuff for a good price and sending good messages and are appropriate.
DeleteI agree with you Thomas because undercover boss is inspiring to people to do good deeds but those shows like jersey shore and others. Don't teach you anything besides how to party.
DeleteI agree with both of you, shows like jersey shore show people that it's ok to not have a job and party all night and get drunk then spend the rest of the day with a hangover. That's not how normall people act. But as you both said shows like American idol and under cover boss are good shows that anybody can watch and enjoy.
DeleteI agree, Thomas. Shows like jersey shore my parents say I am not allowed to watch but I hear people talking about it and I wouldn't bother with any way. It's just for people that are fools, like the capital. They think they can take people's kids and use them for amusement.
DeleteI also agree with Seth said because jersey shore is nothing but people acting stupid and going to parties drinking Just for entertainment . I agree with the American idol thing to because its people trying to reach a goal in life and don't think people would try to fake that.
DeleteThomas, I one hundred percent agree with you. My sister sometimes watches reality T.V. Shows and I get really annoyed because half the time it is just a dumb show with people acting stupid in front of camera or a show that is so posed to be real but in reality they would not be doing or saying the things they are, it is just made up for people's amusement and I don't like it. I say this because the shows are influencing the viewers to act like the people on television and the people on television are complete fools. But there are some exceptions to some reality T.V. Shows like the ones that help people and are not just so posed to be funny the good shows that help contribute to people's lives. I like these type of shows.
DeleteThomas I completely agree with you. There are some reality shows that are not very real and re planned out and usually inappropriate. But then there are other shows that are real and appropriate.
DeleteI don't really watch reality tv shows becouse I think there boring or there about teens or young adults going out to party. I think it's a bad thing for kids to watch becouse there going to want to do that stuff and they cuss and fight and drink on a lot of them. The things that I like to watch are like sports or interesting things.if the hunger games was on tv I wouldn't. Watch it because it's about the Capitol picking kids and making them fight and kill other people for there life's and that's not a good thing.
ReplyDeleteTv shows I like to watch is ones where they are physically challenging and hard to win. I like them because the shows don't get boring at any point making me want to watch it. If I had to watch the hunger games I would find it cruel especially that they throw kids into an arena and make them kill each other. The Capitol is cruel and think they should have all the power. The worst part would be that all of them dying could be me if I was picked in the reaping. So I would find it annoying that they would televise the hunger games just to show the Capitol has the power.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite reality tv show is called Face-Off. Face-Off is a show that has about 20 make up artists that get topics every week and compete to make the best creations they can make in 3 days. A reality show that I can live without is called Total blackout.Contestants have to do challenges in the dark for $500. this may sound easy, but some challenges include guessing objects but sometimes it can be snakes to squid. it funny to see them scream, but, as I said before, I can live without it.
ReplyDeleteI believe reality tv has its advantages and disadvantages .Some shows have no purpose but to entertain and that is what the Hunger Games is mostly for. The games are made to be "played" for the brutal capital and it's audience .They are not played to discipline the tributes because some of them are struggling enough trying to provide for their families .So if I turned on my television and saw the games being played and kids turning against kids I would feel very betrayed because the the capitol or in our case the government would have turned against us to allow this horrid fight ,just for entertainment go down.
ReplyDeleteI watch a lot of different TV shows all I have at lest 1 show that I watch each night. I don't have a favorite TV show because I LOVE all the shows I watch anyways. But my top 5 are
ReplyDeleteThe Voice,ABDC,Long Island Medium,Extrem Makeover, and Dance Moms. The top 5shows that I picked are all real life shows that aren't written as a script.
I wouldn't want to see kids my on age fight about pretty much about nothing. I would hate to see kids gritting brutally killed. If would of seen some I now get killed that I am close to I would run into my room and cry.
I agree because who would want to watch that I know that It would probibly come down on the parents because of a government who doesn't care about there citizens and I couldent imagine someone coming to my house and telling me that my child or children has died.
DeleteI agree with u gabbie I love me some dancing reality shows also I agree with u about the hunger games statement because if I was forced to watch that I well be really sad and I well not be able to leave like that
DeleteMy favorite show is duck dynasty it's about these country people that are millionaires by making duck calls and I think it is acted because they do stuff that normal people don't do like go on a golf course and try to catch frogs for there dinner.I think that's weird and acted because I don't think many people go on a golf course to catch frogs but the show is funny because they do what the average person doesn't do.I think this show is on the better side of reality tv instead of jersey shore. If the Hunger Games was on tv I would watch a little because I think it would be a little interesting if somebody I don't know was in there but if somebody I knew was in the Hunger Games I would watch and cheer them on.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you Ryan because my favorite show is duck dynasty and it is crazy whennn they went on a golf course and try to catch frogs but also when they tried to have the Christmas duck dynasty they try to give the presents
ReplyDeleteMy favorite reality tv show is next it's kind like a dating site type things it could be a girl or a guy they get 1gurl or guy that is single Then they get eather 5 girls or guys to pass the challenges of the girl and if u make it to the end yhu choose the money or the girl/guy and if they kick u off and say next befor the times over how much time yhu last is how much money yhu get but usually I don't like reallity tv shows and I wouldn't like seeing hunger games because I would not wanna see children and teens die
ReplyDeleteI really like realitie tv as long as its funny and intersing to watch. My favorite reality tv show is bad girls club even thoe it has a lot of fighting and arguing in. The reason I like this tv show is because it shows how diffrent life styles live together , they have to see who is the baddest girl in the house .I know some people may say this show is dangerous but it stop at a certan limit like they don't let them beat each other since less they stop the, win they fight. The hunger games takes it to far that force young kids all over to kill each other I think someone should put a stop to this .
ReplyDeleteI am not that big of a fan of reality tv. A lot of reality tv shows specifically on MTV are about young people drinking and partying or doing completely ridiculous stunts for money. Most of these reality tv shows are scripted more or less so it takes away from the actual "reality" part. Some of these shows make it look like doing these things are okay for young kids and they are not. They have a negative influence on a lot of the youth who watch it. Some of them are almost comical in how stupid they act. Other reality tv shows which are not scripted and not based off of young adults and teen drinking and partying have a better influence on the audience. Of I was forced to watch the hunger games I would try to miss as much of it as a can. I couldn't bear watching kids kill each other for the capitols entertainment.
ReplyDeleteThat is also another reason why I don't watch very many of those shows either. They sometimes go by a script that makes it not a reality show. Most of the time the script just makes them more ridiculous.
DeleteI am not much of a reality tv guy I think that reality tv is annoying to me because it is only people living there every day life. But by far my favorite reality tv show would be survivor because I like watching him showing us what we needed to do if we were in his position. But if I had to watch the Hunger Games I would not feel comfy able becauseI would not like to watch kids fight for there life and they have to do it for the capitals amusement.
ReplyDeleteI'm not going to say I don't watch reality tv because that would be a lie. I have watch quite a few of them actually. I can't sit down and watch a whole episode, but I can manage to sit though at least 30 min. Just the way that the people talk, act, and sometimes even look, makes my skin crawl. Their personalities are very annoying in a way. I feel like once they are on tv, in the type of world that we are in today they believe that being "different" is the way its suppose to be. I find it very strange that people would be willing to put their life out there knowing that everyone can see and know what they are doing in their life. Nothing can be called as special because anyone can see it.
ReplyDeleteIf I sat down, turned on the tv and saw a show where kids are forced into an arena and made to kill each other while trying to remain alive. This would really make me sick to my stomach and I wouldn't be able to just sit there and watch it.
AGREED! Lauren I feel the same way about watching reality tv shows. It makes me sick (not literally) to sit through 30 minutes of people that cause drama and fight with each other just to get money. Sure their famous, but you wouldn't have time for your family and stuff because you are too busy fighting with people and partying. So I like my life way better anyway!
DeleteI agree with what you said about being different. I think it's okay to be different but in the way some reality tv shows are different, I don't think it is the right way to be different. As in drinking and partying and getting into trouble. I also agree that personalities are kinda of annoying when they act obnoxious and loud. I could never sit through the hunger games either.
DeleteI agree because why would kids our age want t o put that in our minds. I agree about what you said how they are different. Because they act like they are a whole different person when the cameras come on. And when the cameras are off they are themselves. Why would they call it realty tv if they are not the selfs it doesn't make sense.
DeleteReality T.V. Is not my favorite type of television because it's mainly about people living their lives. It infuriates me that over the years some stars that were good kids get changed to a person who thinks everything is jacked up. For example Miley Cyrus, she starred in Hannah Montana, when she first started acting in the show she was young and bright and she looked like a great kid to be friends with. But after afew seasons of the show you started noticing these little things changing about her and the show. At the start of the show she was mainly worried about her secret getting out to the world, her friends and her family. But as the seasons showed she started only caring about herself, her love life, her father not letting her date, and just little ridiculous things. But when she quit the acting job it looked like she went berserk. She got tattoos, she had really wierd songs and videos, and her act, and her haircut. Which brings me back to the subject. It has a really bad effect on our society because people only care about themselves and their love lives and the next popular thing.
ReplyDeleteMarisa is right its all about who is most popular or who has the most money but really the people are rod, mean, and most of all selfish. Except for 18 in counting they have some good lessons. You should check it out but Miley cyrus didn't start out so mean at first it was.a pretty good lesson for kids how it's not all about the things you have it's about family which her dad said a lot but as time goes on he didn't say it at much.as time passed miley thought it was all about her and no one else and the mural of the lesson got harder and harder to find and soon there was none but 18in counting didn't let family out of there sight that is how reality tv is suppose to be filled with lessons so littl kids can watch it.so over all it not really my typee of tv.
DeleteI agree with Marisa. Reality TV makes you think what the people want you to be or influence you on what you should be. They don't think about theirselves just about being popular and money. It can ruin a perfectly normal person to a big fat cliche!
DeleteI personally don't like reality TV. I think it's fake and only camera effects. Also I read a book called "chomp" by Carl Hiassen. In it the boy and the father learn and work for the reality TV star, Derek Badger. In it Derek Badger is a "survivalist". He is supposed to jump out of a helicopter but a stunt man only does that. Also he is supposed to be weak and hungry and sleeping in the wild when at night a helicopter comes takes him to a 5 star hotel and he is catered to his every need. He doesn't make any of the stuff it's just there. The whole thing is FAKE!! Also reality TV doesn't have a positive input. It makes you think that wrong things are the right things. For example like when Mrs.Boulden said that in Jersey Shore they portray partying 24/7 as a "cool" thing. This is NOT. Also one time I read that in some reality Tv's where the actors are as skinny as a rake and the people in a southern American country watched it their culture was to be a bit overweight but because of reality TV the girls started purposely throwing up their food to be like "Americans".
ReplyDeleteTalking about the Hunger games I wouldn't bear watching my best friend or anyone I know being killed. Even if it's someone I despise why should I be happy if someone is killed for an unjust reason. That is completely wrong and out of sorts. I can't believe why the Capitol people think its just a game. It's death. No matter how much I don't like Jersey shore I'd rather watch that than the hunger games.
Dena, you have an excellent point on that. No matter how much I hate someone I couldn't bere to see them die a tragic death, especially for entertainment. It's sad the Capitol is allowed to do that, to take 24 innocent children from the age of 12-18 and watch them all slaughter each other only to have one victor. It's bad enough that thousands of people die a day from hunger and injuries why put more weight on their shoulders by them making pray that thief kids don't go to the hunger games, and have to kill each other .
DeleteI do not understand how the Capitol can just stand there and let people do that to each other really in the hunger games there is no winner u either die in the hunger games or u live but if u win u would be scarred for the rest of your life as u watch your friends sit and die over and over in your head.even the people in your family will be affected by the way u act it can ruin your life reality tv is so unbelievable I am upset of the things people do to get money or to get Fans what has happen to all of us.
ReplyDeleteI agree with what you are saying because if you are chosen and you win you get no special treatment if you have kids they still go in to the jar the Capitol sucks and Katniss and peeta should be the change of all that and I think they are . Everyone who wins is scared and the people from the Capitol know that the winners are living in fear how do they sleep at night it's frightening .
DeleteExactly! They watch little kids die for pleasure! They don't care at all it's just a game! Sometimes I feel like the real games begin AFTER you won. You go through nightmares, and what about the people you killed? This is not something a young person like Katniss should endour. It's cruel and so unjust.
DeleteYes it is frightening like they do these things just for the fun of it thing needs to change like you said but the real question is will they make a change or will they not I gust the is the writers choice but well see thanks for the comment.
DeleteYes, I'm in to reality T.V ? Reality T.V is a lilttle inappropriate but it's also cool at the same. But like many of are teachers say we should not be watching anything like it Why ? one it's to violent, two its a lot of partying and a lot of kids watch T.V and see all the partying so they thing it's cool but it's not !
ReplyDeleteMy favorite reality tv show is ti and tiny family first in that show this rapper name ti share wat goes on in his house by putt it on a show . He show how life is not only perfect on the rich side and how he love his family and how he also can work and wash the dishes at the same time .
ReplyDeleteWell I also agree that mine to and the kids is crazy but he always put them on the right track and king and the baby always fighting but he do step up and make them stop
DeleteShakura i love what your saying but the only thing you forgot was how does that relate to the hunger games but other then that what you said was lovely
DeleteI am not a big fan of reality T.V. if I watch it I must be very bored. The only reality shows that I watch are the "Jersey Shore" and the "Bachelor". The "Jersey Shore" is inappropriate but it can be entertaining if I get hooked on it. When I watch the "Bachelor" it's funny to watch but sometimes annoying on how the people on the show show-off on t.v and make a fool of themselves. These shows on T.V. Are influencing teenagers and grow ups to go on television and try to entertain people but it's ruining there reputation at home. I would not watch the Hunger Games because it's wrong and scary to think that, that could be you. I would hide my face too, Lauren.
ReplyDeleteMadison h ur right sometimes I watch Jersey shore and sometimes it can gt addicting but the bachelor is funny especially when the other girls get jealous when another girl gets a rose before them
DeleteI do NOT like reality tv because most of the time people just pick fights to get higher ratings. I know the people are trying to get higher ratings and I know that that's how they do it, I just don't find it entertaining at all. As for the hunger games, I would tune in every now and again to see who's rebelling. I think the games are sick, but, like Katniss, I would like to see a rebel.
ReplyDeleteI love reality tv because you never know what's going to happen next. For example, one moment it could just be a game to win ammunity to having someone falling off a platform and dieing or someone's passed out and everyone's mood has changed to getting food to hoping someone stays alive.
ReplyDeleteI generally dislike reality TV. Most of the shows just film the lies a bunch of rich people who sometime act like brats because they are spoiled. for example, Keeping Up With The Kardashians. They whine about every little thing even though their life is much better than the vast majority of people in the country, and the show is extremely inappropriate. I feel as though this is a bad influence and this does not the depict the American public, most of whom are good people. I would never watch the Hunger Games because it isn't right and if the government made me watch this I would probably do what i can to overthrow/rebell against them.
ReplyDeleteI am a big fan of reality TV! My favorite reality tv show is probably the Bachelor but I don't like watching the last three weeks of it because I hate seeing the girls falling in love with this guy and then just getting their hearts. Broken in front of the whole world. It's sad to watch them being so desperate, fighting for this one guys heart but it's also embarrassing to them and it makes me feel bad for them. I cannot see myself watching The Hunger Games because seeing all these kids fighting for their lives just make me wanna cry. If I were in The Hunger Games I would be scared and I would feel horrible knowing that I have to kill people just to make other higher ranked people happy and feel good.
ReplyDeleteI extremely dislike reality TV because it is nothing interesting it's mainly just people yelling at each other. If I lived in Panem and had to watch the hunger games I probably would not even watch it I think I would be " doing something else" so I couldn't watch it. I have seen some reality tv shows and every time that it is on I just walk right out of the room.
ReplyDeleteYes, I love reality television because they can help you sometimes like relate to what you do sometimes as well as some can be inappropriate but sometimes you need a good laugh and you can tell like "wow I would never think someone would do this" also you get bored seeing make believe and sometimes you want someone In action. I like the jersey shore eve though it is somewhat inappropriate you can see what type of lifestyle people live and also you laugh at what they do. Also I like the bad girls club because it is hilarious when girls who call themselves bad and when they get on the show they are scared and I like how girls manipulate each other and you won't know until you watch the show that they manipulate them and after they feel dumb because all that time they were fighting for nothing and it is great to see there reaction at the reunion.
ReplyDeletei agree because on bad girls club they just want to show their all bad but some of them are not. but they also try to manipulate them if someone hurts somebodys feeling's like were they do that at so qorah i agree
DeleteI do not fancy reality TV as I think the shows are quite pointless and do not teach kids correct behavior. Such as Jersey Shore, HoneyBoo-boo child and the bachelor. I have never watched a full episode of either of those serious but the snippets I have watched are inappropriate and these people are payed thousands to act like idiots as a form of entertainment. I am not saying the people are idiots, they just act ridiculous and 'romodels' for this generation. If I turned on the TV and saw to death at the hands of the capitol I might be sick because I don't like fighting and forcing citizens to fight for entertainment is sick.
ReplyDeleteI rare see some where they don' kill each other but battle but not die but get eliminated from the game.
ReplyDeleteI like reality tv when it is funny like wipeout and minute to win it and they do all of this goofy stuff in front of everyone to win money. But if I where to choose one to go without it would be Killer caryocy. But if I saw the hunger games I would change the Chanel or close my eyes if I was forced to watch it.
ReplyDeleteMy feeling about reality is that it could be a good thing because in some reality tv shows it shows perseverance and to me that is good for a kid to be watching because maybe they will get more perseverance in there life. Me personally enjoy reality tv because it is shows me that people on them can go threw very difficult things in their life and still have enough perseverance to get threw it. My favorite reality tv show is the show Big Brother. Big Brother is my favorite because in that show the have to go threw very difficult competitions against or with each other. In the show it starts off with I think 16 contestants and they all get I small duffle bag and that's all they get to pack all there clothes then they go in a house with the other contestants and they can't leave the house for 3 months and they go threw challenges and 1 person get eliminated every week....... Sarah's not done
ReplyDeleteI like reality tv because in most reality tv shows there is a whole lot of competition and I like shows that have competition. For example Master Chef and Hells Kitchen and Big Brother are all reality tv shows that I like because they all have competition and I like competition. I don't like survivor. It is not very interesting.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you josh it does she competition witch makes you wanna watch more because of the commercials it like a book every chapter or series
DeleteI agree with you , Josh because there is a lot of suspense in who will end up cooking the best meals. Then who ever wins gets a prize / money. But during the cooking it makes the moments extreme because you can cut your finger and that could slow you down.
DeleteI like some reality tv shows because some show has to much drama. Like Jersey Shore it is just to much for me. But what I like to watch Cake Boss, say yes to the dress, and undercover boss.
ReplyDeleteIf I turned on the tv and saw the hunger games on I turn it right off because I don't want to people get killed
I'm not going to lie I do like reality TV, and I am also a teenager which I do watch MTV which is not really realistic because they do party all the time which isn't okay. With the Hunger games it is a sort of reality but in the Capital's eyes it is just a board game. You shouldn't want to watch an 12 year old little girl get a spear through her chest and suffer and die. I think watching Katniss give a little memorial service and sing to her it gave me a new perspective on life with that you can be here one second and a minute later you could get into a car accident or get a spear through your chest. Which is horrible for President Snow to feel that bad about the world and that he is the best and that he can control everything.
ReplyDeleteI like two watch a lot of tv shows with my dad and all like storage wars and all that battling for people's old storages and who has the most money but turning on the tv and watching people like young kids fighting for their lives and killing each one another that's just sad that the capital would do that two others family's I wouldn't be able two watch that to sit and watch while their in there suffering and killing one another .
ReplyDeleteI am interested in reality T.V My favorite T.V. show is hardcore pawn. It lets me know about the price ranges for different things in Detroit . I like to watch shows that have action and drama involved with the show. If the Hunger Games were on T.V. I would watch it. I would like to see 24 people from different district's fight for their lives. I would like to see everyone's game plan in trying to survive against 23 other people. Also , from knowing that Peeta and Katniss win I would want to see how they killed and survived the longest instead of just reading about it in the book.
ReplyDeleteMost reality TV shows that I have seen are not "real" in my opinion. Some are completely fake. What I mean by this is that these TV shows show events that don't really happen in real life. Shows like Jersey Shore are definitely not something that would happen in my life. I can not relate to that at all. It is showing people that they should be partying twenty four seven. That is not true at all. I believe that most reality TV shows are not a good influence on the teens and even preteens watching them. But some reality TV shows are real. Some of these are shows on animal planet such as Gator Boys or The Turtle Man because they happen in real life, with real people. Those are the shows I like. The fake ones have a horrible effect on our society. Telling kids that it is ok to go out and party all night is not ok. If I turned on the TV to see The Hunger Games, even though it is a real thing happening, I would cover my eyes and ears because I would hate to see defenseless kids losing their lives. I think it is a bad way for a person to live.
ReplyDeleteI agree! Most reality TV is super super fake! It's changing how we think act and look at the world everyday! Some reality TVs are good though, but not many. I think only ones that are positive and have real people not actors working is the best
DeleteI agree too!! Reality tv is fake and dangerous. It is such a bad influence on kids that watch it. Unless the show teaches you about stuff you need to know in life.
DeleteI don't watch reality tv because you watch the famous people on there and they are not being there self and if they call the self people's leaders well how about you being yourself because I really don't like that so I rather stick with csi or something like that.
ReplyDeleteQorah I agree with you on the bad girls club because the only reason that they are on the show is because they think they are some bad girls but usally they are not the first night somebody cries because they got there feelings hurt but that's what it is all about fighting and doing what they want and Qorah I liked when you said that they do bad girls to manupilate the 6 girls in bad girls club
ReplyDeleteI think that reality tv is crazy and it is influencing teenagers to act stupid they say to themselves " if they can do it on tv then we can do it at home " and that's why teens act stupid the show gator boys
ReplyDeleteI like reality t.v a lot one of my favorites is cops because they go out their with doing there job but sometimes with fear. Like the hunger game they do the same thing some are scared to death and some aren't but they still go out there and do what there suppose to do.
ReplyDeleteI like reality tv. But I do understand that most of it is script and I do agree with mrs. Boulden because most of the kids growing up today do think it's okay to party 24/7 and do stupid things. But when it comes to the hunger games I can't wrap my mind on how the Capitol thinks its okay to send children to fight and kill each other. In a way the Capitol should be some sort of a role model for the other districts but there not
ReplyDeleteReality TV show now a days are all inappropriate in many ways and all about partying and other things. I really don't like reality television shows and I hardly watch them when I turn on the TV. My favorite reality tv shows I watch are the ones that are entertaining in a way where people aren't crazy like a number of shows on MTV. For example, I like to watch shows that you can get information out of and not just be entertained with crazy stunts. I believe that show like Jersey Shore have a bad effect on our society because they depict crazy things like drinking and partying that may influence people watching. If I turned on the TV and saw the Hinger Games, I would immediately turn it off because watching kids being killed by others of their own kind is just a nightmare for me and that is just a horrid thing to see live on TV where everybody in the Capitol views it as just a regular sporting event.
ReplyDeleteI don't like reality tv.I don't get why it is so many people like it most shows like that is about survival.
ReplyDeleteI am not a huge fan of reality T.V because I feel like you are living the reality . If you go and watch people living there life on the beach or finding there love then your just waiting your time to do those type of thing in your own life . I could live without any reality T.V I do not watch it in my every day life so it would not effect me . I would be discussed by turning on the T.V and the Hunger Games was on I would not even go near my T.V would feel ashamed that I have to live we're my leader takes inocent children and let them kill each other
ReplyDeleteMost shows like the hunger games have to much blood
ReplyDeletemy favorite reality tv show is t.i. and tiny family hustle. because they talk about their life what their job is and they can take care of their kids and have fun with them when their not at work and when the kids aren't busy doing anything. If i turned on the tv and saw hungher games i would turn it because its not that interesting to me because i dont want to see 20 something people killing eachother
