Think about a time you were faced with a difficult challenge. Describe the challenge and how you attempted to overcome its hardships. Were you successful in conquering your challenge ? If yes, what made you successful. If no, what would you do differently next time. How do you think you would handle the situation Katniss and Peeta have been faced with?
A challenge I once had to face was when I was When I was on my friends roof I had to jump off front flip into a trampoline it looked hard so when I atemted it I flip off the roof roof and when I landed onto the trampoline I fell face plant into the ground. So I tried again and again until I got it .i was very painful but I accomplished it .i was successful because I never gave up .The way I would handle Katniss and peeta's challenge when the mutations came behind Cato ready to kill .i would try to kill Cato first and then try to kill the wolves.
ReplyDeleteI disagree with the last sentence because if you kill Cato first he would then kill Peeta because Cato had put peeta in a head lock so as Cato fell down he would take peeta with him and they both will die together
DeleteI think that is good that you strived to achieve your goal but it would be better if he did something other than jump off a roof I think he should have done something that will not either kill you but might hurt you really bad.

DeleteMy challenge was that I had to clean the whole house before my family got home because they had were gone for the weekend because they had went on a trip to new york. I didn't go because I did not want to go I probibly was boring I had woke up on Saturday morning and there was a note on the refrigerator it said " clean the whole house "before we all get back so I did not do it until Sunday morning because who wants to clean the house when you have it to your self so I had got a call and I had picked the phone up and it was my mom saying that they were coming home early And I still didn't have it done so I was trying to hurry up and clean it but it was so much that I couldent do it by my self so I called my frirend and asked him for help and he came over and we hustled our butts of we were putting the last of the stuff away then I heard a car pull in to the driveway and it was my family getting home they twisted the door nobe nd we were almost done they opened the door and we were done I didn't get in trouble and got the house cleaned right in time
ReplyDeleteThe time I conquered a very difficult challenge was 2 years ago when one night in newyork state I was getting ready for bed and a wolf howl went off and I went outside and right there in front of me a wolf was there looking to eat a cat so I got my uncle to shoot away the wolf while I save the cat so the wolf started to come after me until the gun was shot at the wolf then it ran away and I took the cat and now he is living here in De with me named tabby

DeleteThat's a good story but I'm not sure if it's true, it just sounds to "out there" to me, you opened the door and the wolf was standing there trying to eat a random cat, then it was coming after you until someone shot at it. I don't know, it just sounds a little exaggerated to me.

DeleteMy challenge was when I was in forth grade and on the way to school our bus got into a accident. Unfortunately I got injured and suffered a right broken leg and hand. I had to adjust to having cast on both my right arm and leg. I also had to adjust to being in a wheelchair for 2 months so my right arm and leg could heal.I was successful in conquering my challenge because I had a lot of my friends help me in school and my family really helped me all the way through he injury. I would handle Katniss and peeta's situation by trying to find a very secret place like a log or a under ground place and if I can't find that kind of place then I would dig the ground with my bare hands

DeleteA hardship that should really be my sisters is mine as well. We were at gymnastics where my sister participates, my mom coaches and I help out and my sister bother pinky cut down to the bone in a door hinge. I was soon in the bathroom trying to keep my breakfast down because my mom and sis were going to the emergency room and my dad was coming to pick me up. The only reason I hoped in the car was because I thought I was going home but we were heading to the emergency room too. I say Kate with a bloody paper towel and had to leave the room. As you may have noticed, I get groomed out by blood, guts, and gore. My parents thought just a few stitches and we can all go out for ice cream but really she needed surgery. I was more nervous than she was and I could barily look at her without want to throw- up . But I made it soon he was back to normal and I didnt have to barf all the time. I just wouldn't allow myself to look at her hand.katnisses mom is like a doctor and me like Katniss would both run to the woods. I liked the book because Katniss wasn't a stereo type and showed what she believed in by rebelling the Capitol .

One time when I was faced with a problem was when I was playing in the championship for my all star team for baseball. What happened was I was in right field and I had a ball come and hit me in my face, I still threw the runner out at second but then had to go to the doctors and found out that I had a fractured nose and cheek bone.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't know how to handle her situation because I've never been put in that kind of pressure. But if I was put in that situation I would mostly hid and try to figure out how to use the weapon I got. There is a lot of scary things out there.
I liked the book because it was pretty suspenseful. It had me on the edge of my seat most of the time. It sucked when you made us stop when it was at a good part.
A difficult challenge I have faced is when I did dog agility. Dog agility is when you guide your dog through a series of jumps, tunnels, teeter totters, shoots, a-frames, tables, weave poles, tires, and many other obstacles. I have always been a huge fan of dogs. I started with one of my dads friends dog. They are the people who hold a class of teaching and practicing dog agility. The first time I did dog agility, I worked with a Rottweiler. His name was Mickey. And you probably think that this is a vicious dog when you hear the breed of it. NO! Mickey is actually a therapy dog and is super friendly. Anyway, Mickey was a very layed back dog. I was about 10 when I started doing this so this dog was about up to my waist, which was kinda the funny part. But since Mickey was laid back, it was hard to Finnish a course.so I finally decided to give Mickey a break with agility because I dont think agility is mickeys sport... So I started with a border collie. Her name was Asia and was VERY crazy! I did Finnish a couple courses with her but I after got penalties because she would knock down bars, miss an obstacle completely, and skip weave poles. So I stuck with her for a while until my family decided to get another dog. This dog i still have now. She is an Australian shepherd named murphie. Murphie is very independent and lazy. We realized that when we started her in her first course. She stopped and ran out of the ring multiple times. So we entered her in courses over and over again. So we started training that would attempt to keep her from running out of the ring. We entered her in a course one more time knowing that if that didn't work, she was done. Beleive it or not, she finished!

Sounds like a hardship! I can't believe you didn't give up and leave dog agility all together! I never though telling a dog what to do would hard but now that you have explained it I do. It's good that you stuck with it like Katniss never gave up when she hunted. You seem to have a bound with dogs like Rue has a bond with Mocking Jays. You are always working with a dog like Rue was always singing to a bird. I have always wanted to work with a dog but now that you explain how hard it is I'm not so sure anymore. Good thing you stuckmwith it because you succeeded in the end!

DeleteMy challenge was I had to clean up my room before it had reached 12:00pm my room was a mess and I had to do it ten minutes. It was so hard because there was clothes and games everywhere but I wanted to play my video games so I had to rush very quickly so I can get it done. When my mom was at the door I had finally finished with my room and I got to play my game.
ReplyDeleteI disagree because this is no video game this is kids fighting to there death and imagine someone that you loose someone you really love you will be really sad and in the game when you die you can come back but then in real life you can't come back. So katniss been in the game for two weeks you been playing for a couple of hours.
DeleteA challenge I had to overcome was my fear of airplanes or flying. When I was little I would start to scream and yell because I didn't like the loud noises of the airplane and the people so my mom had to comfort me and say it would be ok. Now i am ok at flying and don't get as nervous. I over came my fear by letting my self know that it will be ok and nothing will happen.
ReplyDeleteA challenge that I once had to face was in cheer leading they told me I had to do a toe touch in my basket toss and it was scary because I thought that they whouldent catch me but I ended up doing it and succeeding and they cought me and then after that I had to practic it over and over again but to do it I had to tell my self I would do it good and be okay.

DeleteI have some challenges like reading books. I guess you can say I got over it. I mean like when we had to read hunger games I really didn't I read to much. There's consequences for that if I didn't do the journal responses I will get a low grade. Next time I will do my homework. If I was in PETA and KATNISS shoes I would learn there weakness.
ReplyDeleteIt was a challenge when I tried to do the rising sun wood puzzle you have to get the one big wood piece out with out picking up a smaller one. If I hade to do something next time I would look up how to do it
ReplyDeleteIn the 2nd grade I was taken out of class to go to speech. Over the years I have had 4 different speech teachers and I was doing better for a long time. Although this isn't a matter of life-or-death like Katniss' plight, I'm still working on it. This is my weakness.

DeleteIve got 2 sisters,7 and 3 years old. I'm the family babysitter and have to watch them often. One night,my parents had left for a movie and I had to watch them from around 4:30 to around 7:00. But of course,the movie was popular and sold out so they got new tickets for a separate timed movie and I had to watch them from 7:00 to around 10:30. I overcame it easily by putting a movie in on the Xbox for them and they stayed quiet all night long.

DeleteThe time I was training for a karate tournament and I was getting stuck on something and I just couldn't get it but I kept trying and when I went to the tournament I won two first place medals and one second place medal. How I would of handled Peeta's and Katniss's situation at the end is I would try to calm Cato down so he would gain my trust then while he is not expecting it I go for the shot.
ReplyDeleteA challenge that was challenging for me was when I had to take care of my little brother when he was born. It was hard for me because I was 7 and I didn't know how to take care of a baby. I accomplished my challenge because I realized I was the oldest and I had to be responsible while my mom was still at the hospital. After that I did almost everything for my brother. From feeding to playing. How I would have handled Katniss' and Peeta's situation at the end of the games is try to throw berries in his mouth and if he let go of Peeta I would have shot him.
ReplyDeleteI play piano and I would like to advance in playing like everyone else .Sometimes there are competitions ,nothing like the Hunger Games but I think they are still difficult ,with every eye watching your every move ,entertained by the way you play ,weather it's the games or an instrument .No matter how hard something is you have to push through it. When I play in front of people I get nervous and If I mess up I just keep playing until I get it right and if I were in Katniss and Peetas situation I wouldn't know what to do but push through it and keep the thought that "I will be going home " in my head and what ever happens In the mean time will happen for a reason.
ReplyDeleteA challenge I had to face one time was when I tried out for Allstate Band last weekend. No 7th grader had ever made Allstate, but my Clarinet teacher told me to try out for experience. I had to practice every night for hours so I might have a chance. But when try-outs came, I was so freaked out and nervous. So I went in the room and did my best. I didn't make it, but it was good experience. But when Katniss had to face Cato in the last night of the games, its way harder than playing an instrament.

ReplyDeleteMy challenge was to clean the house before my dad came home. I started cleaning the house at five o'clock but he came home a couple minutes later. I then got yelled at and he asked why the house was not cleaned and I told him I fell asleep but in reality I just did not feel like cleaning the whole house by myself. Next time I will start earlier and get the house clean before he gets home, and so I do not get punished.

I found it hard because I had to get use to the changes we in countered for example not being able to go swimming everyday of the year. Also it was hard because I had to leave all my old friends behind and start new. But I eventually got use to it and now I'm living happy with my new friends and place . I understand when Katniss was faced to fight off Cato was way harder then moving

ReplyDeleteA recent challenge of mine, was soccer. Last summer, I tried out for a a travel team and was very surprised to see that I made it. But now my really challenge is staying on the team. You can climb a mountain easily but the real problem is staying there. To maintain a succession is the hardest task of it. And everyone has challenges when trying to accomplish a task. "Without suffering, there would be no compassion." Everyone has to go through some sort of event that pushes them back. In the story, I honestly don't know what I would do in their situation. I would probably kill myself at the beginning of the games just to get it over with because I know there is no way I could win! So I wouldn't be able to get to their situations anyways...

A challenge that I had to face is when I was on a moon bounce and we had to do a front flip,I was so scared but my friends were like you have to try or you won't overcome your fierce so I tried it and I overcame my fierce. If I had to do it again I would but wouldn't do it differently because the first time I think I did it right
ReplyDeleteA challenge I had to face one time was doing a front flip over stacked mats, then i had to land on the trampoline and do another flip. I was not successful and I almost broke my arm. I do not think I will be doing it again, but if I were to do it again i might wear extra padded clothes or get practice first. If I were t face the problems Katniss and Peeta had to face I would probably fail because I detest fighting and bloodshed. I am also hungry and thirsty all the time so living without food wouldn't be my cup of tea, all the while fighting to stay alive on an empty stomach.
ReplyDeleteOne difficult challenge that I have had in my life is when I tried out for travel soccer for the first time ever. I felt really bad because all of my friends that were on the team with me for many years I had to let go because I was on a higher team without them. One of my first practices I had with my new team was very hard for me because I was a shy person. Until my friends madly,jorden, and Rachel helped me make friends. Now I have many new friends on that team and I have never been shy since and that was my difficult challenge I could not handle the situation that Katniss and peeta go throw because I would freak out like a headless chicken.
